Thanks to all who participated in the Fall Fixed Wing Fun Fly on Saturday, October 4th. It was one of the best fun-flies in memory. Mike Estock and Joe Weizer served as coordinators. Significant contributions were made in many areas by Rom Boutin, Ed Snead, Al Campana, George Sprenkle, Tony Szczur
and Walt Pierzchala. The fun-fly displayed V.F.S.S. and model aviation at its very best, it was a great effort and a great day!
Don't forget to attend the Annual Auction on Saturday November 1st at the Valley Forge Middle School on Rt. 252, just up the road from the field.
General membership meeting at the church on October 14th was well attended. We watched a video from EAA which featured Patti Wagstaff and Delmar Benjamin. The raffle was a huge success. Show'N Tell featured George Sprenkle's 40 cent clevis wrench. Joe Weizer's great spring loaded landing gear innovation, Russ O'Brien with a unique muffler arrangement for mid-size Super Tigres and Bruce Mathis with his terrific ducted fan A-10. Bruce's A-10 represents 2 1/2 years of hard work and dedication.
The BOG will meet on November 18th at the church at 7:00 P.M.
General membership meeting will be on November 4th, the first Tuesday, at the church. We do not have our usual meeting date as the church will be in use. This will be a very important meeting. We will be seeking volunteers and nominees to serve on the BOG for the 1998-1999 term. Several people have already come forward. We need 8 new members to sit on the BOG for the next term. Please contact me, Warren Barrick, if you wish to volunteer. V.F.S.S. needs YOU! The BOG will elect new officers in December.

Training Activity
By Rom Boutin

Well here we are the month of Nov. and daylight saving time is over until next year. That means instructions in the evenings has come to a halt.We have had a great turnout of students during the '97 flying season a total of 31 enrollees as of 21 October of which 10 were soloed. In addition 3 students were soloed who were enrolled in the instruction program in prior years.
Contributing to the above stats during Sept. and Oct. were SAM BUONO who soloed on 9/17 by ABE JONES. Sam was a club member years ago but needed a good check out as only Abe could do. In addition JOE PASQUINI soloed S. REISBORD on 9/10 . I guess Joe was to much for Steve as Steve is out of the country at the present time. BUD KLOPP added one more to his solo list by cutting the umbilical cord to JOHN BRAGITIKOS on 10/10 . This was
accomplished in very few sessions of training. DAN NATALE was released from the guiding hands of SIMON BUSH on 10/11. Dan is thinking of buying stock in one of the fuel manufactures as he is doing a lot of flying of late.
Congratulations to all the above Students and a great job was done by their Instructors.
Keep up your good professional work and thanks from all Club Officers.

Subject: Model Airplane Glider Equipment

My mother has a variety of model airplane glider equipment including transmitters, reels of launching tubing and other glider materials that she wants to sell and get rid of. She's in Buckingham (Central Bucks County) Pennsylvania (a far north suburb, also close to central Jersey). The glider equipment originally belonged to Anthony (Tony) Mondesire of Bronx NY. He was a member of the Long Island Flyers.
If you have any tips on how she can do this, it is appreciated. You can e-mail me.
I'm Lauren Swann
thanks for any help you might be able to offer.
